Scorpions

scoprion

Scorpions are classified as arachnid and are close relatives of ticks, mites, and spiders. They generally hide during the day in undisturbed areas while emerging at night to feed and mate. Although scorpions are generally acknowledged as dry climate creatures, they require moisture and thus are often found in dark, damp areas around plumbing fixtures, around air conditioning units, under rocks, logs, and loose, fallen tree bark.

BEFORE THE CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN ARRIVES

Be prepared to describe any areas where scorpions have been found to the Service Technician. Indoors, ensure that baseboards are clear and free of clothing items, toys, and other obstructions that may prevent the Service Technician from performing with maximum efficiency.

AFTER THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN LEAVES

Outdoors, keep all clutter (woodpiles, rock piles, leaves, and other debris) away from the home’s exterior. Seal cracks in and around your home or other structure. Indoors, attempt to keep all other insects in check, as these insects are the primary food source of scorpions.
